About Me
About Me
Author and Freelance Writer
In addition to the publication of my literary fiction novel, The First and the Last, I am a freelance writer across many genres, including journalism, travel writing, blogging, and poetry. I wrote for The Intermountain Commercial Record and Salt Lake Times where I specialized in legal-related articles, and I am an award-winning journalist for The City Journals as well.
My work also appeared in Utah Life magazine and Utah Stories. I wrote as a travel writer at first anonymously, then for International Vacation Home Exchange as well as for my own projects. I am a published poet and short story writer. Please see my portfolio for samples of my work.
As an editor, I’ve worked on everything from business proposals to scholarly conference papers. I bring both precision and an ear for language to every project.
In addition to being a writer, I also believe I am a scribe – one who not only records documents but also elicits and records the literary thoughts of others. If you’re looking for a thoughtful and experienced writer or editor, I’d be happy to connect.
I look forward to participating in several upcoming international book fairs presenting The First and the Last. My current projects include a memoir and novel, Strata set in Lisbon.
Legal Background
I have over 15 years of experience as a paralegal in both New York City and Salt Lake City and worked in intellectual property litigation, insurance defense, government law, criminal defense, family law, and Native American law.
Education
I have two B.A. degrees, one in English Literature (with a Creative Writing Emphasis) and one in Psychology. Though I am basically an ethereal soul, I also needed a practical way to make a living (something which pleased my parents), and became a paralegal, graduating from Westminster College in an American Bar Association-approved program. I later became an Advanced Certified Paralegal.
